Fanore beach is 10km to the north on the coast road and Lahinch town, beach and golf course are 10km to the south. The Burren (which has many green roads for walking can offer an enjoyable day when staying in the area) occupies 50 square miles to the north of Lisdoonvarna and the Cliffs of Moher at 6km to the south west. Doolin 5km to the west (famous for traditional music) has many pubs and eating houses. Daily trips to the Aran Islands are available from Doolin Pier. (Aran is a Day trip and an extra night in a B&B is advisable.) Limerick and Galway & Shannon are approx. one hour's drive from Lisdoonvarna which one can day trip to. There are also many craft shops and shops specialising in Irish products (woollen fabrics, tweeds etc.) nearby
